For the last few weeks we have been crying out for the government to pay attention to that very important segment of the small business market - the sole trader.
Finally they have listened.
If your are self-employed and your business has suffered, or is expected to suffer, a 30% decline in turnover (relative to a comparable prior period of at least a month), then you will be eligible for the new JobKeeper payment of $1,500 per fortnight.
This payment also applies to all employers with different turnover thresholds depending on the size of the business.
